Another fine Osprey book covering Troy from 1700 to 1250BC and including sections on Bronze Age chronology; the history of the archaeological excavations to the present day; the nine cities of Troy; mud-brick construction; fortifications - towers, gates and defences; and the wooden horse. Coloured illustrations showing cross-section reconstructions and photos both in colour and black and white illustrate the walls, palaces, goegraphical locations and depictions in ancient greek art. As ever, with Osprey editions, the only weak point is the relative slimness of the volume which leaves the reader wanting more.
