Joshua J. Mark recommended this book on 21 June 2012
Kathleen Freeman was a writer who paid close attention to detail and was able to bring the past alive through her prose (as in her The Greek City States which is a personal favorite and highly recommended). In her Ancilla to Pre-Socratic Philosophers she brings this same care and quality of work. The fragments of the great Pre-Socratic philosophers are presented clearly and uniformly. This is an excellent reference book for anyone teaching or writing on ancient Greek philosophy or history and simply a fine addition to any functioning library.
